Seasons Greetings

The Winchester Community Safety Partnership (WCSP) aims to update all partners on a bi monthly basis about information that is available to view on the Partnership website. The Website can be accessed using the following link: www.wdsp.co.uk/communitysafety
Since the last update in October 2010 the following information has now become available.

The launch of the WCSP Christmas Campaign

Throughout November and December members of WCSP will be working to ensure that residents and visitors have a joyful Christmas; providing safety advice to help prevent people from becoming victims of crime and reminding people of the negative impact that alcohol can have on the lives of families, friends and colleagues when taken in excess.

Lights On

Overall Crime & Disorder in Winchester has fallen

Overall Police recorded Crime and Disorder in Winchester fell by 4.6% in 2009/10, according to a recent Strategic Assessment undertaken by WCSP.

Winchester awarded Purple Flag status

Purple fFlag Winchester has been singled-out with five other UK cities for its improved night-time safety and experience, by being awarded Purple Flag status. Purple Flag is a new town-centre award - similar to the Blue Flag for beaches - backed by Government, police and business. To find out more click here.

WDSP Community Strategy

The Winchester District Strategic Partnership (WDSP) have identified three overarching outcomes for the Winchester District: Active Communities, a Prosperous Economy and a High Quality Environment. WCSP will be making a contribution to all of the overarching outcomes but will take a specific role in the Active Communities outcome.

In the last bulletin we offered partners the opportunity to provide us with a summary and a link to their web sites. Thank you to all those organisations who have already provided their details, however we need more of you to submit your details to us in order to make the information provided as broad as possible.  Please contact Sarah Drinkwater at sdrinkwater@winchester.gov.uk with a short summary of the service you provide and the link to your web site if you wish to take this offer up.
