Health and Wellbeing

Securing health and wellbeing for everyone in the Winchester District is a key outcome that the WDSP want to achieve through working together. Below in bold are the priorities for action agreed by the WDSP. Our Health and Wellbeing Group will oversee the delivery of these priority areas. What we will do is set out in the Health and Wellbeing action plan.

Residents are active and a healthy weight

What do we plan to do?

  • Take positive steps to help all adults and children to achieve a healthy weight and to reduce obesity levels
  • Increase the number of people who are physically active and increase opportunities for adults and children to walk and cycle
  • Improve access to high quality sport and physical activity facilities
  • Ensure there are opportunities for all residents to benefit from the build up to the 2012 Games, including the Cultural Olympiad

Residents make decisions which help them maintain a healthy lifestyle
