High Quality Environment

Securing a high quality environment for everyone in the Winchester District is a key outcome that the WDSP want to achieve through working together. Below in bold are the priorities for action agreed by the WDSP. Our High Quality Environment Group will oversee the delivery of these priority areas. What we will do to help achieve this outcome will be set out in the High Quality Environment action plan, currently being developed.

The Winchester District meets the challenge of climate change

What will we do?

• Reduce average carbon dioxide emissions per head for the Winchester District
• Work together to reduce fuel poverty in the District, resulting in financial benefits for residents as well as helping to reduce carbon levels
• Maximise the opportunities and minimise the costs of climate change, ensuring the District is ‘climate change ready’
• Make services more accessible without the need for a private car
   

Biodiversity is thriving in the District

What will we do?

• Refresh the Winchester District Biodiversity Action Plan and maintain and enhance habitats identified in it
