Scams Awareness Month 2011

Scams Awareness Month, was organised by the Office of Fair Trading in February, to promote the impact caused by scams to potential victims and their friends and families. Hampshire County Council Trading Standards used this opportunity to promote the issues caused by scams.

Trading Standards have recently expressed their thanks to local organisations for assisting with Scamnesty 2011. Results showed that 2011 proved to be the most successful year to date with considerable coverage by the local press, a large number of awareness raising talks being undertaken and information leaflets requested. Trading Standards relies on its partners to help spread the word about scams and the impact that they can have on victims and their families and friends.
