Community Safety 2011

Every district council has a duty under the Crime & Disorder Act 1998 to establish a partnership with the Police, Fire & Rescue Service, County Council and the Primary Care Trust.

Partnership working is important because fighting crime is not just a matter for the Police, it is also about the environment, housing, licensing and how we co-operate with volunteers in our local communities.

Each Community Safety Partnership (CSP) is required to produce an annual Strategic Assessment. This assessment is used to identify issues effecting public safety in Winchester. To learn more about the Crime & Disorder Act 1998 please refer to the section on Statutory Duty.
