March 2006 - Alcohol
Winchester Community Safety Partnership held its second annual conference on Friday 10 March 2006 at Sparsholt College, to look at the affects of alcohol on the community.
Delegates attending the conference, entitled 'Alcohol: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly', heard from professionals from a range of local organisations. Over 100 delegates from a wide range of agencies attended including representatives from the voluntary sector, college and University, community and statutory services.
Delegates heard from a number of speakers covering the good, the bad and ugly effects of alcohol. The conference also provided the opportunity for discussion and consultation. Delegates were asked to consider gaps and proposals for other services which will be used as a base line for the second year of the Community Safety Partnership action plan around priority one - Creating a Safe and Enjoyable Evening Economy.
Overall feedback has been very positive from those who attended which also included requests for more of this type of cross agency event to be held in the future.
