Winchester Drug & Alcohol Reference Group (DARG)

The Winchester Drug & Alcohol Reference Group (DARG) serves Winchester district. The Winchester DARG is made up of a cross-section of local agencies, providers, practitioners, service users, carers - people interested in tackling drug and alcohol issues in and around the district.

The Winchester Drug and Alcohol Reference Group has become a virtual group to avoid the costs of regular meetings.  By using technology (email direct contact) to communicate actions, updates and seek advice, the group have reduced the need to hold formal meetings on a regular basis. This has not impacted on the communication flow between partner agencies when an emergency occurs or a warning comes out about drug or alcohol concerns. However the members may come together formally once or twice a year to agree campaigns and increase networking opportunities.
