Safer Neighbourhood Panels
Safer Neighbourhood Panels – the partnership is currently in the process of setting up Seven Community Panels across the district which aims to support the concept of policing through Safer Neighbourhoods.
UPDATE:
An update about the Safer Neighbourhood Panels will be published on this site in July 2008.
NEW UPDATE - 1st September 2008
On the 22nd July the District Police Commander sent out a letter to all Parish Clerks in which he proposed a change in the development of the Safer Neighbourhood Panels. The proposal was suggested to ensure wider community engagement across the district. The following proposal was put forward:
- All parishes were asked to consider putting community safety as a 'standing' agenda item on one of their committees, which ever was the most appropriate, and in return the Police would make a committment to attend all of the meetings during the year (either a PCSO or the area sergeant).
A copy of the letter is attached as a downloadable document which details the full outline of the proposal.
NEW UPDATE - 15th September 2008
To date we have received a number of responses from Parishes across the district in which they have agreed to the above proposal.
