Winchester City Council Neighbourhood Warden Scheme

Winchester City Council employs Neighbourhood Wardens who primarily cover the Stanmore, Winnall, Weeke, Highcliffe and the City Centre areas. The Neighbourhood Wardens work as part of the Community Safety Partnership towards creating a safer, cleaner and greener Winchester by engaging with the local community and actively responding to community issues.

Issues tackled include:

  • Removing graffiti
  • Fly tipping - investigation and reporting for clearance  
  • Litter complaints
  • Overgrown shrubbery
  • Abandoned vehicles
  • Untaxed vehicles
  • Discarded needles and drugs litter
  • Abandoned trolleys
  • Neighbour nuisance

Community Involvement activities:

  • Working in partnership with both statutory and voluntary agencies
  • Supporting residents meetings and forums
  • Updating community notice boards
  • Projects and education both in schools and the community
