Action Plan and Priorities

The first Action Plan for the WInchester district is currently in development and will be available here shortly.

The priorities for 2007/08 are still to be agreed, but may include:

• Ensure greater involvement of children and young people in decision making and supporting their community
• Achieve designation for three potential sites for Children’s Centres in the district
• Develop a Play Strategy for the area and agree a portfolio of projects to draw down £200,000 lottery funding from the Big Lottery
• Improve the emotional well being of young people
• Reduce the incidents of bullying
• Improve awareness amongst young people of the services and confidential support available for those affected by domestic violence
• Improve transport options for young people
• Improve the media image of children and young people locally

The Action Plan will be drawn up using the Outcomes Based Accountability methodology (also known as Results Based Accountability). To find out more about this way of setting outcomes and working out what needs to be done to achieve them, click on the web link on the right hand side of this page.
