Terms of Reference
Membership
The Forum will consist of local representatives from service providers, to include public, private, voluntary and community sector representation.
It will also involve representatives from agencies, councils, organisations and the local community to ensure that all needs and views contribute to decision making.
Aim
To give adults living in the Winchester District access to learning and the opportunity to continue to develop their potential throughout their life for the benefit of themselves, their family, their work and their community.
Objectives:
- Promote the wide variety of training and learning opportunities in the Winchester District
- Continuously map existing provision and identify gaps to include leisure, first step learning, Higher Education, business training, community learning, Skills for Life, vocational and skills based qualifications
- Raise the profile of any identified gaps or new priorities in lifelong learning
- Develop partnership strategies to pursue additional resources and funding for the benefit of people living in the Winchester District
- Promote and share good practice
- Share awareness and information on key local and national projects and initiatives and respond to relevant consultations
- Seek to influence and guide policy and practice to meet local needs by:
Sharing and disseminating information on issues relating to lifelong learning
Identifying lifelong learning priorities to make recommendations to the LSP and provide market intelligence to future Strategic Area Reviews
Working collaboratively to address identified priorities
Organisation
The Forum will nominate a member as Chair of the Forum and to represent the Forum on the Economic Prosperity Strategic Outcome Group of the Winchester District Strategic Partnership.
