Winchester BID

The Winchester Business Improvement District (BID) is an organisation working to benefit the business community in Winchester city centre. The work is funded by the traders themselves, using a 1.5% levy on their rateable value, which is used on projects the businesses themselves have voted on. In practice, the following projects have been developed:

• New PCSOs on the beat in Winchester
• Improved Pubwatch and Shopwatch schemes
• Improved footfall monitoring cameras
• Graffiti removal
• Gum removal from pavements
• Improved floral decorations
• Bigger and better Christmas lights
• Marketing campaigns for the city centre
