Welcome to the Natural Environment Forum

Welcome to the Winchester District Natural Environment Forum (NEF) website.

We are a group of organisations and individuals who care about the natural environment where we live and want to work to protect and enhance it.

By ‘natural environment’, we mean all species, habitats and green spaces in the Winchester District. Our aims are to:

• Raise awareness and help communication about the natural environment;
• Support links into community planning and advise on new policies and initiatives
• Facilitate, support and undertake projects

The Forum consists of a steering group which supports the wider forum. Everyone who wants to get involved in looking after the natural environment is welcome to join the wider forum.

We also form the voice for the natural environment in the Winchester District Local Strategic Partnership. This is a partnership between public, private and voluntary sector organisations that are working together to improve the quality of life for those who live, work and visit the area. It has identified the priority issues facing the Winchester District and what the partnership can do to address them - the Community Strategy.
