Support the Development of ESCOs

Generation of renewable energy will be an important component of the district’s strategy for managing energy resources, helping to ensure energy affordability, increasing the energy security of Winchester District and reducing carbon emissions.

We aim to have one or more Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) in the area to help facilitate the installation and operation of renewable energy technologies in the district.

These ESCOs will be locally based organisations with the knowledge, experience and finance to facilitate renewable energy projects and will create the institutional infrastructure that will help organisations and individuals generate their own energy.
