Securing Funds for Carbon Reduction Activity

Generation of renewable energy will be an important component of the district’s strategy for managing energy resources, helping to ensure energy affordability, increasing the energy security of Winchester District and reducing carbon emissions.

At this time, there is little spare money in most organisations to initiate energy generation and emissions reduction activity.

Securing additional sources of finance for renewable energy projects, especially for community or school projects that may have longer Return on Investment periods will be key to accelerating the uptake of renewables.

Research was undertaken in 2010 to explore the options for securing finance to assist the transition to a low carbon economy in Winchester District.  The report can be found on the right.
