The Winchester District Strategic Partnership has identified an Inclusive Society as one of its key outcomes in the Community Strategy.

What do we mean by social inclusion?

People's life chances are maximised. They have access to the services and facilities they need. The needs of specific groups such as disabled people, black and minority ethnic communities, older people, children and young people and faith groups are met. Their voices are heard in the democratic process. People have a sense of “belonging” to the community, they interact with others in the community, are able to use community resources and are in touch with networks within the community

The key areas for action within this outcome are:

  • People are able to access services and information that meet their needs
  • People have access to housing that meets their needs
  • People are active in their communities
