London 2012 Olympics

On the 6th July 2005 The International Olympic Committee announced in Singapore that London would host the 2012 Olympic Games. Since that date The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) and The Olympic Delivery Agency have been working hard to prepare London and the UK for the start of the games on the 27th July 2012.

Dates of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games:
Olympics - 27th July - 12th August 2012
Paralympics - 29th August - 9th September 2012

The Olympic Games and Paralympic Games are not just about sport. They will also celebrate cultures, people and languages – in London, the UK and around the world. In Autumn 2008 the UK will come alive with the start of a 4-year Cultural Olympiad which will combine cultural activitives, education and sport for an unforgettable experience.
