Winchester District Transport Forum

Winchester Town Access Plan Consultation

The consultation undertaken was centred around an exhibition held in Winchester Guildhall on 7th and 8th March where 261 people representing a broad range of bodies, organisations and the public attended.

A total of 232 questionnaires were completed and analysed. These represent a good range of people living in the Town (60%), the District and beyond. They also represent people who use a good range of forms of transport. As such the results will give a good indication of views and will be useful in gauging opinions on possible options to include in the plan.

In general terms there is widespread support for the Plans draft vision and for pursuing a sustainable approach to travel including measures to benefit cyclists, pedestrians, public transport users and supporting measures such as travel plans, car clubs and the Bikeabout scheme.
