uswa) means something you follow and حَسَنَةٌ (hasana) means perfect. So you have in the Prophet (ﷺ) the perfect example to follow. The sahaaba are referred to as the best of all nations ever raised. It is through seerah that we find out how they actually became the best of all nations ever raised. Firstly they were under the direct guidance of the Prophet (Sal Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) and secondly they followed this guidance and stayed firm upon it even after his (Sal Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam)'s death. We find in the seerah what methodology did the Prophet (Sal Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) use to make them from the lowest of the low to the highest of the high, the type of tarbiya (development and training) is seen here. Many of us underestimate the importance of studying the Seerah in our daily lives. So, let’s find out about the amazing blessings of the Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ . Discover how you can get the best out of yourself and make the Seerah part of your daily study routine! To understand the Seerah, you do not begin with the birth of the Prophet (ﷺ). Instead, you must start with the world at that time. That is why every book of Seerah, from the most classical books to the modern ones, has introductory sections. It will show you how he lived before becoming a prophet, how he spread the message after receiving revelations, and the obstacles he faced along with his achievements. When you read about his life, you can get a summary of what happened during that time. This way, the Sirah helps you understand the history of Islam. 2. Understanding the Quran and Sunnah

Criticism of the Burdah is a relatively recent phenomenon. Over the 800 years since the poem was composed, hundreds of classical scholars have praised the poem & written commentaries on its meanings & merits. Criticism of the Burdah is quite rare by comparison, and nearly all arguments against the Burdah have been advanced within the past 50 years. The commentators of IGI’s new edition of the Burdah observe, “Given that different biographers and historians have documented varied versions…not much is certain about Imam al-Busiri’s life.” Sources indicate the following: To summarize, the benefits of studying the Seerah is, in fact, the study of the life and times of the single best human being who ever lived. We firmly believe as Muslims that all the prophets are good and pious and Holy and the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) is the best of them. Study the Seerah to develop a Muslim identity. A famous Russian historian said: To destroy a people, you must sever their roots. That’s exactly what’s happening with us, especially the youth in the West. We’re suffering from a serious identity crisis. We’re practicing Islam, doing our prayers, fasting, etc., but the actual identity itself is often lost. How else can we explain that most of our children have more in common with a television personality or a famous athlete than with the companions of the prophet ﷺ?

That is why the early scholars of Islam, the Sahaba, Tabiun, Taba-tabiun, would teach the Seerah just like they would teach all of the other Islamic Sciences. The Prophet (peace be upon him) could have asked that those children who pelted him with stones be finished off. He could have asked the same for their intolerant parents. But he didn’t! He never took revenge for himself. Rather, he was a mercy to the world and only wanted the guidance and what was best for his people. As far as the meaning of the Seerah of the Prophet is concerned, it is the life of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, his interaction and behavior with his companions and his family members, his practice in his affairs as a leader of Muslims and head of an Islamic State, his dealings with non-Muslims both in the state of peace and war and his characteristics and mannerism. In a nutshell, any aspect or fact that is related to the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him is part of the Seerah of the Prophet. At later periods, certain type of stories included in sīra developed into their own separate genres. One genre is concerned with stories of prophetic miracles, called aʿlām al-nubuwa (literally, "proofs of prophethood"—the first word is sometimes substituted for amārāt or dalāʾil). Another genre, called faḍāʾil wa mathālib — tales that show the merits and faults of individual companions, enemies, and other notable contemporaries of Muhammad. [2] Some works of sīra also positioned the story of Muhammad as part of a narrative that includes stories of earlier prophets, Persian Kings, pre-Islamic Arab tribes, and the Rashidun. [2]

Seerah (سيرة‎) is an Arabic word that means the ‘biography’ or ‘life story’ of a person in general. In the Islamic context, Seerah mainly refers to the biography of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. But the word Seerah is also used for the life journey of other people, like the Seerah of Sabaha (RA). Seerah is also pronounced as ‘Seerah’, ‘Sirah’, ‘Seerat’, or ‘Sirat’.Until you understand the Seerah, these verses will not make any sense. So by studying the Seerah, the Qur'an gains meaning. Without the Seerah, the Qur'an is out of context. Without context, you cannot fully appreciate the Qur'an. When the Prophet (Sal Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) said this generation he means the sahaaba, and the one that follows are the tabioontaba tabioon (students f the tabioon). These three generations are referred to as the salaf and the ones that come after them are called the khalaf. This is enough proof to show us that the sahaaba were the best generation of the ummah of the Prophet (Sal Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) to ever live and the next best are the ones that come after the sahaaba (the tabioon) and the next best are the ones that come after the tabioon (the taba tabioon). It is said that another major catalyst for Imam al-Busiri’s spiritual growth was his Hajj, which he performed in 653 AH (1255 CE). Imam al-Busiri’s illness

There are many reasons to study Seerah, some of them are listed below: A Sign of Love for the Prophet (PBUH): Hardly any sīra work was compiled during the first century of Islam. However, Fred Donner points out that the earliest historical writings about the origins of Islam first emerged in AH 60–70, well within the first century of Hijra (see also List of biographies of Muhammad). Furthermore, the sources now extant, dating from the second, third, and fourth centuries AH, are mostly compilations of material derived from earlier sources. [10] [11] The Seerah of the Prophet (S), or, his biography, has filled many volumes. The question is: how do we make that history accessible and interesting for children today? Shaykh Abdullah dedicated twelve years to this endeavor, and after numerous revisions, he produced the “Seerah Song”, which was ultimately sung by the renowned nasheed artist Zain Bhikha. This epic poem details the characteristics of Rasulullah (S) and is meant to inspire a deep love for him. Each person enjoys what his or heart is conditioned to. If the person is all about following his desires he only like to listen to or follow that and anything else is not of any importance or weight to that person. If the person is all about following the revelation then this is what his heart is inclined to and this is what comforts him and this is what brings about peace in his heart. The heart takes consolation and peace with what it is conditioned to. An example given is that of a person who listens to music or likes it. He will find comfort and peace by listening to it and when the Qur'aan is recited he can't either stand hearing it or he feels uncomfortable around it. His sins prevent him from fully enjoying the recitation of the Qur'aan. Then there is the mu'min (believer) who finds complete comfort and peace in his heart when he is listening to the recitation of the Qur'aan and he feels uncomfortable being around anywhere where music is played. This feeling and example does not apply to everybody. Only those who fear AllahSubhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) and have hope in the Day of Judgment and remember Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) a lot. We know this from the ayat in the Qur'aan where Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) says,
