About this deal

Tequila may have a wild and crazy reputation, but this unique spirit is created according to strict guidelines, guaranteeing authenticity and consistency. It’s distilled from the fermented juice of the Weber blue agave plant, and comes only from a specified region of Mexico, centered around the western state of Jalisco. And what’s inside the bottles has also changed: The new liquid being “more refined” and “reimagined,” though the tequila remains 100% blue agave and CCOF Certified Organic. We received the new reposado only for review. Hopefully we’ll bring you coverage of the other relaunched expressions down the road. Casa Noble was one of the first tequila producers to be USDA certified organic. It was the first brand to achieve both crop and process certification. The current fields were untouched before planting the agave more than 20 years ago, which means there has never been any use of fertilizer or chemicals, or risk of cross-contamination. Its American Brand Family Runs Deep Casa Noble is a brand of premium 100% blue agave tequila produced by the Casa Noble Tequila Company. It is a CCOF certified organic tequila. Casa Noble is distributed in the United States by Constellation Brands Inc. The tequila is made from estate-grown agaves cooked in traditional stone ovens; these are naturally fermented and distilled three times. [1] Casa Noble Reposado and Añejo are aged in White French Oak. [1]

The Casa Noble Tequila Company started as a tequila producer in the late 1700s in the region of Tequila, Jalisco. By 1800, it had a daily production capacity of 10 barrels per day. [4] Casa Noble is made by the well-known Cofradia distillery which remains outside the town of Tequila; owned by Constellation Brands. The consumer demand in recent years for premium Tequila elevated agave prices to price levels never seen before, but this has stabilized as a high planting volume occurred in the past seven years. These plantings have created an inventory of more than a billion agaves. Currently, prices have gone from 30+ pesos a kilo in the open market to around 16 pesos. The demand for Tequila is still strong, and with a healthy inventory of agave, it looks like the spirit has a bright future. PH: Our partnership with Carlos Santana was incredibly helpful in giving Casa Noble visibility when it first started and opened up doors for us to become a part of Constellation Brands. Becoming part of the Constellation portfolio has helped open distribution pipelines and allowed us to experiment more with cask finishes and innovations. JM: Agave spirits are being produced throughout South America. Blue agave is being grown in Australia, South Africa, and the southwest United States. What kind of a challenge will these other sources of agave spirits pose to the Tequila industry in Mexico? Comparing to my most recent notes for this tequila, I’m not seeing any major tonal shifts, save perhaps for a minor reduction in fruitiness. I expect few drinkers will notice much difference at all. Casa Noble remains one of the most solid bottlings in the biz.

PH: Cask finishing is part of Casa Noble’s core Tequila-making approach. We believe in creating amazing spirits from start to finish. In 2006, we created a single-barrel process with the CRT (Tequila Regulatory Council). Since the brand's beginning, we have been committed to using unique barrels, particularly French Oak from the best coopers, to finish our Tequila. PH: While I can’t disclose any information yet, we have some exciting and innovative projects in the works that we hope consumers will appreciate. However, we always keep to our core beliefs of quality, sustainability, and creativity. a b c d "Archived copy" (PDF). Archived from the original (PDF) on 2013-12-03 . Over the past few years, everyone from George Clooney to Rita Oro has dived into the action. Casa Noble was one of the first brands to align with an A-lister. In 2011, Carlos Santana became part-owner. However, his stake was bought only three years later when Constellation Brands acquired the brand. It Has a Unique Connection to Robert Mondavi

The smoky characteristics that we’ve been seeing make an appearance, but you won’t notice them unless you really look. It adds some depth and balance to the other flavors without announcing itself (like you might see with a particularly smoky mezcal). Instead, it lends a subtle support here, and the result is absolutely delicious. Tequila may be bottled without maturation or aged in oak barrels. The length of aging determines how it is labeled: Colorless blanco or silver tequila is aged fewer than two months in oak; reposado between two and 12 months; añejo for more than one year. Extra añejo is a category added in 2006 that includes tequila aged at least three years in oak vats under 600 liters. Generally, the longer tequila ages in oak, the smoother and more full-bodied it becomes. The Reposado features notes of sweet vanilla, oak, mushrooms, ginger, caramel and citrus, which gives it that perfect balance of earthiness, sweetness and spiciness with an easy finish and no lingering aftertaste.Handcrafted using the time-honored “tahona” process, the Roca Patrón Tequila collection offers a sophisticated and complex flavor profile that’s an elegant and elevated take on tequila. Silver (or “Blanco”) tequila is probably the most well-known, and it typically appears perfectly clear in the bottle. This is tequila that’s only aged for a few weeks, so it doesn’t have time to develop the color and characteristics that come from a longer aging process. Silver tequila is great to drink on its own, but it’s great for mixed drinks as well. It will typically taste sweeter and more refreshing, with a smooth, silky finish. While Casa Noble grows their agave on this estate, they actually use the separate Tequilera Hacienda La Cofradia distillation facility for their spirits. They do disclose that on the label, and I give them some extra points for this level of transparency. According to sources, Casa Noble represents 90% of the tequila made at the facility and is one of the factors that allows them to maintain the high standards they set.
