I love this idea as it's all too easy to see an old person and just see, well, an old person - when of course they have lived rich and full lives, doing silly, sad, serious and wondrous things. I love this book; I love the gentle pace of the story about a summer spent on a family island in the gulf of Finland, focusing on the beautiful, tempestuous, playful relationship between the very new (Sophie) and the very old (Grandmother), told with the brutal honesty that befits both ages. Please read this book. 10. Granpa by John Burningham Another cheat, but how could I not sneak a Grandpa in at the end of the list? This book has a lot in common with The Summer Book in that it tells the story of a wonderful relationship between a young girl and her grandfather.

La abuela pájaro, Este libro de Benji Davies comienza cuando Noé va por las vacaciones de verano a la casa de su abuelita, y ahí le esperan unas grandes sorpresas y aventuras. Estas aventuras harán que Noé y su abuelita formen lazos que se pueden comparar con un antes y un después en esta bella historia. The acceptance, support and unconditional love she gives throughout the story makes your heart sing and is another wonderful example of the uncluttered relationship between the grandparent and grandchild. Este libro, indudablemente es de gran calidad, ya sea por sus ilustraciones o su contenido. Pero cabe destacar, que es un libro que en mi opinión esta dirigido a los primeros lectores más consolidados (con previo manejo en la lectura), pues es un poco más extenso y presenta frases más complejas (cláusulas) para niños que recién están aprendiendo a leer, pero aun así es muy claro en su narración, pues fácilmente se puede identificar cuando cada personaje habla (diálogos muy bien estructurados).Granny was going to have a cameo in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but was later dropped for unknown reasons.

The Nothing to See Here Hotel is nothing short of hilarious, with both Stevens bringing the LOLS, big time. And while not the focal character, Granny Regurgita pretty much stole the show for me.
