The EDS maintains continuous control of the tightening process and automatically adjusts the rotational speed according to the application. The soft-turn-automatic (STA) of the microcontroller adjusts the rpm of the motor to the individual torque values. Through this a fast and material friendly bolting operation is accomplished. When the previously set torque value is reached the nut runner automatically stops.
Independent rotation between handle and gearbox ensures steady and optimal positioning of the ITH PDS.

Nut runners and nut drivers are tools used for tightening nuts. By definition, nut drivers are purely mechanical hand tools, while nut runners are pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic power tools. Pneumatic nut runners are powered by compressed air and vary in terms of air fittings and air consumption. Electric nut runners use a DC controller as a power supply. Hand held cylindrical devices are lightweight and portable. Pistol-style devices with trigger actuators are also available. Large nut runner systems are designed to be mounted in a fixed position, usually on an assembly line. The ITH Nut Runner type PDS is a pneumatic torque wrench including a planetary geardrive which is powered a pneumatic air motor. The torque of the pneumatic motor is multiplied by the compact high-performance planetary gearbox. The standard reaction arm carries the full torque of the reaction. Customized reaction arms (TWIN reaction arm, rotating foot) can be delivered based on customer needs.

The torque value from the motor is multiplied by the high-performance planetary gearbox to the value entered. With 360° rotation it is possible to reach the ideal reaction point. Customized reaction arms (TWIN-reaction arm, swivel foot) can be made for individual customer needs. The desired torque value of the nut runner will be adjusted at the compressed air precision control valve. The value air pressure and torque values are listed in the data table supplied with the nut runner. The torque value can be set in 4 stages at the pneumatic motor (small, medium, high, very high).
