This big, brassy projector is as good as you'll get before forking out for the beauty of native 4K projection. The detail may not be as stunning as its brethren in those upper echelons but for colour accuracy, subtlety of contrast and HDR handling, it's a real corker. There are few projectors, even among the best, that handle 4K content well, but if you're not a purist, you can broaden your scope outside of native 4K projectors to those that use smart pixel-shifting technologies that display an emulated 4K image using a lower resolution source projection. In terms of picture quality, the Anker falls a little behind the ViewSonic. While very crisp, it’s not as bright and the colours aren’t quite as rich. In isolation, though, it’s very watchable in dark conditions, and there’s no easier projector to lug around and pull out whenever you can find time and space to set up a screen. Is it the best projector? No, but it’s a fantastic gadget for games, TV and movies.
