Local Development Framework

The Local Development Framework or LDF is an important plan for the Winchester District.  The Community Strategy sets out our vision for the District, and the LDF is one of the main ways in which we will make that vision a reality.

The LDF will set out planning policies which shape how development will happen in the District over the next 20 or so years.  The LDF's policies will make sure that new development contributes to the aims set out in the Community Strategy and, most importantly, is sustainable.

The Winchester District LDF is being written at the moment, so the WDSP is playing an important role in making sure all partners will be involved in involved in proving the right infrastructure for furture development -- for example making sure that there are enough school places for new families moving into the District, health services meet the needs of residents and that new development have the right provisions for things like sewage and water.
